Official Bio

Connor Basich is a Technical Group Lead of the Artificial Intelligence Group, Planning and Execution Section, of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology.

Dr. Connor Basich received their B.A. in Math and Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis before completing an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During his Ph.D., his research focused primarily on developing models and methodologies for robust probabilistic planning for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems.

Dr. Basich’s research interests lie primarily in decision-theoretic planning and scheduling, optimization, human-in-the-loop autonomy, robotics, and multi-agent systems. At JPL, he currently works on the Mars Helicopter, Ingenuity.
