Official Bio

Elly Shao is a Member of Technical Staff of the Artificial Intelligence Group, Planning and Execution Section, of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology.

Elly graduated from Caltech with a B.S. in Astrophysics. She was a summer intern in the Artificial Intelligence Group where she worked on the CASPER adaptation that flew on the IPEX Cubesat in 2013-2014. She has also had internships at Caltech where she worked on Characterizing Young Variable Stars in the Monoceros R2 Cluster, Spectroscopy and Photometry of the North American Nebula, and a Flight Cryostat for the Ground-Based TIME-Pilot. She also previously was an Intern Analyst for the Primavera Capital Group.

Elly Shao works on observation scheduling and mission analysis projects for the Eagle Eye Project.
