Official Bio

James Mason is a Member of Technical Staff of the Artificial Intelligence Group, Planning and Execution Section, of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology.

James has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland where he worked with Professor Dana Nau on integrated HTN Planning and Execution as his BS Honors Thesis. Prior to JPL, he was a Teaching Assistant for “Intro to Artificial Intelligence” at UMD and interned at Lockheed Martin Syracuse where he worked on Submarine Electronic Warfare.

James currently works on Autonomous Underwater Vehicles. He also works on Novel Observing Strategies such as Sensorwebs for Earth Science Missions.
