Official Bio

Nihal Dhamani is a Member of Technical Staff of the Artificial Intelligence Group, Planning and Execution Section, of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology.

Nihal graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science and B.S.A in Astronomy from the University of Texas at Austin. At the University of Texas, he was involved with the Seeker project where his research was focused on utilizing machine learning and computer vision tools for autonomous vision-based navigation in CubeSats. For more details see the conference paper here. Nihal has also helped develop cloud infrastructure for the Perseverance rover mission as a JPL intern.

At JPL, Nihal currently works on MEXEC.
